Let's Get Started
Don't panic! This doesn't mean that your child's room is destined to be a mess until you are able to organize your entire home. However, if you realize that your child lacks examples of organization in the home, it would be helpful to create a few simple examples so they can then do the same thing in their room. A couple of easy "homes" you could create would be a box or area for "School Paperwork", a home for "Backpacks", and a home for "Arts & Crafts". It doesn't have to be perfect, you can even use labeled cardboard boxes. Once you have the homes set up you can explain to your child that these are the "homes" for these specific items and when it is time to clean up, all the related items should go into their proper homes.
